Star Wars Pie

I've never really liked pie... yeah, yeah, you're shocked, I get it.
Think of it this way though; if you and I were sharing a pie, well, you'd get it all.
More pie for you! YAY!

It's not all pie, mind you. I like chocolate cream pie and banana cream pie (or most cream pies).
The problem is that I just don't like cooked fruit.
So again I say, more for you!

I've had a bit of a hankering to actually try my hand at making pie though. And if I did, I could pull out the old SW cookie cutters and make this beauty (as seen above). What a great idea.
Now, what type of pie would fit well in the Star Wars Universe?
Sith Cherry?
Womprat pot pie?
Bothan Blueberry?
(Many Bothans died to bring you this pie)
Maybe I could use the SW sandwich cutters and make Spaceport Strawberry?
So many choices!

This joke is right up my ally, and really, totally something that I now want to do
Thanks to Head Trip (one of my favorite online comics) for the great idea!

Star Wars Sandwich Cutters

That's right folks, it's sandwich time... Star Wars Sandwich time!
Williams-Sonoma is back with more awesome SW stuff for me to add to my already ridiculous addiction to Star Wars related food.

Like the pancake molds (which I bought at the same time as the cookie cutters), I'm a little worried that they're not going to get used or at least not for their intended purpose. You see I don't really like sandwiches, or pancakes for that matter, but I'm still intrigued by this product.

Oh hell, I'll probably just use them as cookie cutters and make cute falcon and tie cookies.
These run a little steep at $30 USD, but they do come with a collectible tin, so at least I will now have somewhere to store all my treat tools.
I can't wait to see what they come out with next!
Come on pie mold or cakelet pan!

Silly Sweets

If you're reading this blog, chances are, like me, you have a sweet tooth. I love sweets whether it's cookies, cakes, or candies.
I often stop in my local bulk store. I can't help it, it actually on my way home between the subway and my house. Plus, they sometimes have cool Star Wars stuff there, like my R2-D2 bobble head.

I stopped in there yesterday to see if they had gotten in anything new and I came across a few things that I thought were both crazy and funny.

First off, I was pretty excited to find these:

Yes, coconut flavoured M&M's come in brown, white and green and have cute little palm trees and flowers on them. Also, check out Yellow failing at being a peeping tom!

How funny is that?
You know what's really great about these? They're really good. They have all the flavour of a Bounty bar, without any of the pesky shredded coconut getting stuck in your teeth! These may be a new favourite of mine from now on.

The other awesome, hilarious thing I found was this:

Twilight Sweethearts. Now I love any type of conversation hearts that you can find. I love picking them out of the pile and reading them all before devouring them. Sometimes you find really funny ones that you can't pass up, like the infamous "beet me" or "give me stuff" so when I saw these I just couldn't pass them up.

The Bite of Sour... the Kiss of Sweet!
or
Taste the Sour to Sweet Eclipse.

Did these people even know what they were talking about? It's like they got a panel of 12 year old girls to come up with slogans and flavour names.

Tangerine Tangle, Boyenberry Bite, Midnight Melon and Jacob Black Cherry
Is it me, or does one of those names seem off to you?

You know, I might actually save them and use them on cuypcakes or something. Or I might just open the box one night and giggle to myself as I devour them, hoping to find some really awesome ones that say bite me or something to that extent. Wish me luck!

Star Wars Aprons

I was just emailing a friend and I wanted to send him a picture of the new messenger bag that I got in the mail yesterday from starwars.com. So I head back on over to the website to get the link, but what I saw when I got there changed everything!
Are you ready for this?

STAR WARS APRONS!!!

Now don't get me wrong, I love my Star Wars apron that came with my cookie cutter set,

but it's not nearly as exciting as these beauties!

Now I can finally bake wearing Princes Leia's slave bikini and not worry about getting my sexy midriff covered in flour!

Or I can bake a nice dark chocolate cake that would make an sith lord happy.

The baking is strong with this one!

These are available for pre-order at starwars.com for $24.99 USD and ship at the beginning of August.

Oh and for anyone interested in the bag I ordered, it looks like this! YAY!

Star Wars Facebook'd BBQ

My friends and I at Star Wars Facebook'd (check it out, you know you want to) recently got together and had a kick ass BBQ.
When this was being planned, I volunteered to bring the dessert. I was pretty stoked at the time, since I had just gotten my Star Wars cookie cutters.

So the BBQ happened this past Saturday and I spend 2 days getting everything baked for it. I made sugar cookies, cupcakes and cinnamon buns. Man, what a lot of effort, but the results were well worth it.

For the cupcakes, I used a boxed cake mix (I haven't found a good recipe to try yet and I was under time constraints)

I'm quite happy with how they turned out. The Jawas are a little funny, but adorable the Yodas are .

I just LOVE the Admiral Ackbars (Or as I've been calling him, Admiral Snack-bar)

On to the sugar cookies! This is where I had the most fun! I used the same recipe as I did from the last batch.
These, I think anyway, turned out much better then last time.

These tasty Greedo treats won't shoot first :P

How about some Death Stars? I made the indent using a measuring spoon.

Utinni!

Darth Vader's are hard to ice, that's all I'm saying

It's a SNACK!

Thirty of us went out after her. Four of us came back. I'd be with them, only... after I lost my leg I just couldn't ride any more... until I heal. - Cliegg Lars (This cookie lost it's leg, so it made sense to make it a Cliegg) Oh, and Boba Fett

Princess Leias!!! So cute!

Just look at those Curvy Princess Buns (snicker)

The best part was that everyone loved them! YAY!
